IT was stripped and refinished in natural at some point, and there's an ugly mudbucker route under the pickguard, but I love it.

Just thought to update as I took the neck off for the first time ever while in my possession and finally confirmed that is is indeed a 1964 L series via the date stamp (my dad thought it was a 63), and the pot date codes don't always tell the full story...

It's like seeing an ancient wall painting or lost treasure, quite special indeed... I honestly felt humbled seeing into the instrument's past, very nostalgic.
I have to say even more satisfying (well, almost) was that the neck went back exactly as it was, that was my biggest fear... I was also stunned that the truss wasn't stuck or too difficult to move. Cheers !
As mine is 50 this year (edit: last year), I gave her a new pick guard (dress?) to celebrate...
