Pre-EB Stingray question

Does anyone have a pre-EB Stingray with a 1.5" nut? Does that even exist?

It was an option on the Sabre, but I was wondering if it was also offered on the Stingray.

AFAIK there are a few rare birds that has 1.5" nut..

I had a Sabre in the early 80's. My understanding (from what the salesman told me) was that the Stingray was similar to the standard size neck on basses at the time, but the Sabre had a "skinny, jazz-type neck." I've still got the brochure somewhere around the house. It pops up every couple of years when I'm digging in the closet for something! I never really liked the Sabre. It turned me off of Leo Fender for life. I traded it in on an Alembic mid 80's and never regretted it!

I think the '80 catalog mentions it as an option for both Stingray and Sabre basses. Someone who had a Stingray with that neck started a thread on TB a few years back, so they do exist.
