This is a repost from TGP, in the hopes of finding more responses:
I like my Orange Guitar Butler. I like my Orange Bass Butler. I do not like the fact that I have to use each for their specific instrument. I know I don’t really NEED to do that, but that’s what I’m doing, and I want to stop. I want one pedal that will do the whole Sansamp thing, the requirements of which I will explain shortly, for all of my instruments, rather than multiple pedals. My reason: Clutter. Here are the boxes it must tick, in no particular order:
1. Must have XLR out. I have a powered Accugroove Latte cab, which uses an XLR in - not a multipurpose jack, but a dedicated XLR - and I have to accommodate it.
2. Must have, at least, a clean channel, a crunch channel, and an extremely high-gain channel, all of which work equally beautifully with guitar and bass.
3. It must have an on-board effects loop.
4. It must be able to be powered by a Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 3 Plus, with one of the cables Voodoo Lab sell for this purpose.
5. It must be analog. I do accept digital switching and preset storage, and IR loading, but the main signal needs to be analog.
The following parameters are negotiable:
1. IR loading
2. Tube preamp
3. Modern voicing
4. Not be the size of a Pedaltrain Novo 32
5. Be affordable, and relatively easy to find
The closest I can find is the old Tech 21 Character Series Deluxe pedals - VT Bass, Blonde and Liverpool. I had a VT Deluxe, but the V1 does not have speaker sim defeat. Those three pedals don’t have modern voicing, and they aren’t explicitly marketed as being able to do both, but I have had the VT and Blonde Deluxe pedals, and I know they work. I want other options, though; I’m not averse to Tech 21, but someone else might have the better product for my needs.
