Preamp of spector bass?

Does anyone know what kind of preamp did the spector legend 5 custom had? In the spector website says that the spector professional series(legend classic, rex, corepiezo, and mk-5) have a tonepump jr. installed in their electronic comportment. I'm just curious, but did the legend 5 customs had this type of tone control unit?

Right now i can see the circuit compartment of my bass, and I dont see the tonepump jr. All I see are circuit boards with their cables and the 9volt battery. I am not completely sure, but I think at one time my bass did have a tiny little black box once(not sure if it was the tonepump jr. though). I can't remember what happened to it because a technician had a look on it to repair the input jack, and that was more than 3 years ago. By that time I didn't know much about bass electronics.

My question is does my bass need this tonepump jr. to function better?

No. Its just a different tone. A pic would help. The haz is one big circuit board the size of the control cavity. The tone pump and pump Jr. Are little box's. The emg pre's are little circuit boards mounted on the pots. Sounds like you have the Emg pre. Those are the STD pre in most basses with emg hz's. They sound good. You can always upgrade / change to a tone pump as well for a different tone. The tone pump at 18v is really under rated pre imo. New they are $100, used they go for around $60 give or take. Seen people just give them away before too (haz upgrade).

I'm going to upload a picture of the circuit compartment of my spector bass. I would really appreciate it if you could take a look at the picture, once I upload it, just to make sure that we are certain of the statement we proposed earlier.

Sorry to resurrect a zombie thread, but I wanted to confirm the above. I just traded for a Spector bass made in Korea that has EMG HZ's and the two-band preamp mounted to the side of the bass pot. It has the DIP switches. It is essentially the OEM version of the EMG BTS, and you can download the pdf on how it works, and how to set the DIP switches here:

The PDF provided on this site does not require soldering- it just requires plugs. Can I assume the wiring is the same for an emg preamp that looks like the picture provided above by the other lad?
