Precision basses other than Fender

Here's another bass that isn't quite what you're looking for.

I can almost get a P bass kind of tone out of it with some GHS Precision flats, a foam mute, just the right amp setting, and effect pedal.
I've always thought it sounded like a P bass on Chocks.

I tracked down an 80's Japanese Roadstar II PJ at a real nice price and I had to buy it. I love the sound and playability of them and they play so easily past the 12th fret compared to a lot of Fenders. What got me on the lookout a while back was I wanted to add a couple P's for studio options, and to have one be a P/J was the optimal idea. I plan to drop a lot more coin into the P, which will be a Moollon, but finding a unique P copy for a low price is always awesome. The bassist from the Stepkids tours with one and his tone is awesome. Great player, check them out for a nice example of a Roadstar P/J tone.

Yeah and this one comes modded which really grabbed my interest. While I know the original pickups are fantastic, this one has a hand wound P and a Fender split J with a bypassable Bartolini preamp in it. Plus he added a badass bridge. For the price I had to do it. I can't imagine many people have a roadstar II modded like this, and I am betting it will sound amazing.
