Precision Perfection

after many basses, influences, parts, strings, adjusting, and general tinkering, about 3 months ago now, i finished my Perfect bass.

I posted a short bit about this bass in my last thread, but just played a nice gig with her, and decided i need to share my joy with the word.....(okay the talkbass forums bass guitar section world.....)

My main influences Are Jamerson, Duck Dunn, John Entwisle, and Paul Jackson, so i thought for a long while, and came up with this, what i call the 70's reissue bass that never existed.

Specs:
Allparts Maple jazz bass neck, pearl blocked and bound, standard 1.5 inch jazz width at nut, 10" radius.
Graph-tech nut,
Fender 70's precision bass logo,
Vintage reverse style 60's tuners, and vintage re-issue string tree.
Fender 70's four bolt neckplate,
Shaller straplocks,
Squier Agathis Vintage modified P-bass body & finish,
Squier vintage modified P-bass pickups and awesome cloth wrapped wire, (haha)
Gold Anodized pickguard i found in the backroom of my local music store,
Fender Re-issue slotted "Vintage" bridge,
Normal Fender "Precision Bass" knobs

Ive been stringing it with DR Bootzilla's because they can give sizzle-y highs when needed, booming or solid lows when needed, and can also sound like flats. 50-110 (these strings for me really cover every music genre)

Soo, whatcha think about my new Baby?

Ahh yes price, now lemme think...

the VM precision was 200 on ebay,
the pickguard was free,
neck was 220,
tuners nut and tree were roughly 100,
and the bridge, knobs, and neck plate came with the VM precision (found a modded out one on ebay.)
Headstock logo was 10

so i guess that comes to around 540 :D

SWEET! You gotta love it! You've got a killer-looking (and sounding, I'll bet) P for just a bit more than an MIM P.

Let it never be said that modding isn't worth it. It certainly is!;)

exactly what i was thinking.. Boy thatd be gorgeous with a bridge/ pick up cover :hyper:

happy playings, i'm jealous

I actually have the pickup cover, (as her holes show)
but ive always been scared of putting the bridge cover on, because i tend to change strings a lot.

i play right on top of the pickup mostly, so i dont use that cover, but i reallly want a bridge cover.
