Precision Pickup Paired With TI Flats

TI strings sound great with many pickups. In general, I like pickups which emphasis the highs a tad since there's not a lot of it for starters with flats in general and old TI in particular.

From there there's two directions you can select:

1. A more modern tone with Wylde P46 or DiMarzio Moldel P.
2. A more vintage tone: SD SPB-1, Arcane Experience 65 (my favorite) or Lollar P.

I’m thinking I’ll go with the Lollar. It seems like the safe bet and I can get one at a great price.

I have them on a P’62 + TI , very “62” sounding (thump, bump, growl), and open air bright if you open the tone full

and I am on MESA as well , it is in the spirit of it , IMHO

According to me it’s the thumpiest weapon of bass destruction readily available .. ideal for a true vintage tone.
I’ve recorded this sample track using LaBella DTF 760FL flats; at a certain point i decided to incorporate in the tune the bass line of “The revolution will not be televised” (Gil Scott Heron, played by the great Ron Carter on the album I believe).
To me, playing skills aside, the sound is almost identical to the one you can hear in the LP, meaning that this pickup is true to its vintage-repro design specifications.

Great Playing! The tone in this track reminds me SO MUCH of Paul jackson. Im surprised. I listen to the Herbie hancock secrets album nearly everyday so I feel my ears are accustomed to PJ tone.
