Preparing for my NBD (in process pic from Bluesman Vintage!!)

Why so serious?

I've been going through a lot of basses recently, trying to find that perfect combination of playability and tone. Most recently was my Sandberg TM5. It was so close to what I wanted. Unfortunately, after getting it, I didn't care for the positioning of the humbucker pickup (not in the MM position). So I let it go this week and am replacing it with a black Suhr Classic J (I'm all about passive 4-strings right now). It's going to be a solid addition to the stable (should be here Friday).

But the bass I'm REALLY excited about is one I custom ordered back in December 2019 from Bluesman Vintage Guitars, just outside of Nashville. It's their Deville T2 model. Basically its a tele-style p-bass body with Lollar Thunderbird pickups and stacked concentric pots. It has a jazz neck, rosewood fingerboard and is a lovely shade of surf green.

The owner of Bluesman Vintage sent me this pic last night and I'm in love! It's leaning back so the perspective is a bit off, but you get the idea.

I'm sooooo hype for this bass.
