Pricing/opinion on a Warwick Thumb NT5?

The Streamers are a very different animal from the Thumbs - the twin single-coils near the bridge are (likely) what gives them a part of their signature 'snarly' sound. The streamers by comparison tend to sound more 'conventional'.

And of course if the streamer body-shape is to your liking, then give the Spectors a try, since the body shapes are very similar. I think most of the 5-string spectors are 35-inch neck-length, but IIRC there may have been a few runs at 34-inch scale when the production in the Czech Republic was opened (SD-5 spec? with the SSD / stuart spector design logo). IME, if the snarly/grindey tone is what you like in the Thumbs, then the Spectors may sound more similar than a Streamer.

However, the necks on the CR's and Euros are baseball bats compared to a 90's Warwick. Lower end Spector Legends have more similar neck feel than the higher priced Spector models but they are maple. Either that or you can get a Wimbish, a Rebop, or go back to the Kramer Era 80's basses. They are all Maple necks though. The full Wenge necks add a ton to the Warwick sound.

Good point on Wenge vs Maple, I'd forgotten that. I must admit I've not got a recollection of the neck shapes on the CR basses, but you're probably right that 90s-Warwick necks could be thinner.

I just did a partial trade for this bass. Took about two hours taking it apart and polishing everything, waxing, fret level/polish, and set up. Plays incredible with low action.
After cleaning and waxing it, the wood is noticeably darker and more vibrant. The headstock just needed to some as well and no longer looks old. Will post pictures later today.

Wanted to add that the people at Atomic Music are great. Eric gave me a good deal on my trade in items and the bass itself. They also gifted me a solid gig bag, DR Strings, and a t-shirt. This is the third time I've done business with them and couldn't be happier.
