Turning the issue:
can I get good sound, that won't break my back, for less than $X?
From that point of view, any rack is a wreck, never mind the functions (or quality, sorry Bob).
So one starts to look into Clarus, Walkabout, Little slim, baby blue, etc. That back of yours is worth $1000T+! (Yur mileage won't vary, once your back starts complaining)
Bottom line: I'd love to build my own component rig, but as long as the components are built as heavy 19" loads, they are self-excluding.

Problem is alot of the more affordable poweramps weigh in around 45lbs...yeah, that's a back breaker in a 4-6 space rack with other gear. But I love rack setups so I can swap things in and out...more fun than heads IMO.
