"Privacy Error" at Basstringsonline?

Not sure whether or not it is the case here but it isn't uncommon for web servers to deliver image content via http instead of https. On high traffic sites delivering all content secured has a very costly overhead.

In those cases I.E. likes to throw out the message warning that not all content is secured. It doesn't mean the session isn't secured, only some of the page content and it gives you the option of loading the unsecured content or not.

I just checked myself. Login, My Account, Contact Us and shopping cart functionality are delivered via SSL but after login the entire session is not. The function of browsing product and adding objects to the cart are in the clear.

The homepage isn't HTTPS, but idk why Chrome is giving you a popup for it, I have to actually click on the info button to see "Your connection to this site is not private". As previous TBers have stated the site should be safe to purchase from if the login and order pages are secure (encrypted) (https)

When I go to bassstringsonline I get a message on Chrome that reads: "Your connection is not private. Attackers might be trying to steal your information..."

This happens on my home computer and on my phone. It's the only website that does this. Anyone else get this message when browsing through the site?
it means your are not connecting https (secure). if you actually login or just change the address by adding the s , it might go secure. It might just go secure on checkout also...
I've ben pretty happy w/ Dunlop strings lately and they are priced well.
Even if it was secure, an A-list hacker can get into just about anything, anywhere which includes computer driven items i.e. cars, home appliances, banks, stores, govt. sites, space ships, and the list never stops. We are truly living in a dangerous age.
So when you search google, do you ever check to se if you're on the https site or the http site?

I am clicking on the "i" button. And yes, I already said that the login and order pages are secure which should be enough. But I do understand why that's a hard sell to many as it's pretty easy to "fix".

Is there a specific page you are going to? How are you getting to the site? Are you typing....

BassStringsOnline.com or BassTringsonline.com

To replicate it I typed bassstringsonline in google. Clicked on the google results link and looked at the homepage. Everything was fine. Went to the cart. Everything was fine. Deleted something in my cart. Fine.

There's a list on the left hand side of all the brands. I clicked on La Bella, and it gave me this:

As you can see, it doesn't give me the option to ignore it and move on. This is on my desktop but I get the same screen on my phone.

Support got back to me. The only time the site needs to be secure is when data is being sent to us... This is on the login page, contact forms, and of course checkout.

They gave me details on how to make the Entire site come up as secure. Although, unless you are sending form data it doesn't need to be.

It may be a browser setting to alert on non secure pages. I believe the only "submit" form on those pages is the search bar. I do not suggest typing any secure info like CC numbers or social security numbers in ANY search bar... My website does NOT ask for social security numbers. Credit card info is not stored either.

The thing is on Chrome I don't see a way of ignoring the warning and moving forward. I'm unable to proceed to checkout.

Click advanced to bypass that.

However... I know now why you are seeing that and I need to fix those links... The category links on the left redirect to actual links I entered. They will not switch between http and https as it is a specific link.

I'll have to go through them and update them. There are a bunch of them...

Gotcha. Thanks.
