Private Message Alerts?

I like to reply to my private messages asap, this was easy when I had the TB app which alerted me right away. Since that app disappeared the only way I know if I got a message is going to the home page of the site to see. I tire of this and was wondering if there is a way I can set up my account where I get at least a email when I get a private message? I have looked through my control panel and cant find it but I was pretty sure there was at one point.

The "inbox" is at the top of every page,at least on my PC. So it's different on phones? Argh phones are too small for us oldies with poor eyesight lol

I understand that , its the same on phones but I am hoping there is a way that if I get a private message that I get a email sent to my email address, that way my phone beeps that I have a email so I can open it and see "oh new message at tb" and thus go to the tb webpage and check my message. I just was hoping there was some system that alerted me I have a new message without actually having to come to the website and see. Ebay has this system to where if you get a message you are sent a email and my phone alerts me that I have a new email from ebay and thus I check my ebay page.
