Hard to say what kind of music Snarky Puppy is. To my sensibilities it’s more arranged than jazz. I get the sense they play tunes the same way every time, more or less.
Might be what millennials call big band.

This may be an unusual opinion but mistakes add to the authenticity of some records.
A lot of blues records I listen to, especially Hill-country are recorded you know in a Juke-Joint or with a group who aren't so into recording, but when you hear a mistake or a little error and they keep going it only really adds to the human element of that artist.
