Pro Behringer!

By BX4500H is my backup and rehearsal head now for two years. Sounds great through my DB cabs. No problems either.
I really don’t trust their speakers much seen I’ve seen them shred. Maybe it was just the aluminum speakers that had trouble. Maybe they’ve addressed the problem since.
A 180w amp for 109.00 is a good deal. Plenty of power for small gigs and rehearsals.
I was wondering how their powered speakers sounds. MF.com talked them up pretty big in the catalog but they're trying to sell them of course.

I was wandering when you'd chime in, Charlie. I've read your thread on the V-amp (in its entirety) a few weeks ago. I have a BXL3000 combo I use for rehearsal and small/med. church gigs. Have had zero problems thus far (not pro gear, I know. but serves me well).

But they have been sued more than once. Mackie sued and and Behringer settled. Since lawsuits cost money and It would be in international court some companies they ripped off don't have the resourses to sue so they had to just bend over and take it.

Meh… that’s just business. There are no good guys vs bad guys here.

You guys act like any of these companies give a crap about you. Do they care about you when they move their production to sweat shops overseas to take advantage of slave labor and lax environmental regulations, then don’t even lower their prices to you?

The cost of R&D is assumed to be far more than it actually is with most products. They just want those patents protected so they could gouge your eyes out.

Behringer has apparently decided to abandon listing the accepted RMS rating in favor of the BS 'peak' rating. IMO having to resort to deceptive advertising practices to compete is never an indicator of a product worth considering.

Wow, someone with realistic expectations based on the price they paid for a product, that will never catch on. ;)

Having said that, I have had one mixer DAO and a crossover that would keep cutting out at random and would need to be switched off and on to fix it. Hence I don't use Behringer gear anymore, but I don't hate them. I don't care enough about it to use a word as strong as that.

My guess is most these companies had to move off shore. It is the only way they could compete with Behringer. So you can thank them for less US jobs.:rolleyes:

We practice with a Behringer PA that is decent. One speaker blew and took a month to get replaced. It seems to have decent power for what it is. We only run keys, drum triggers, vocals and lead guitar through it.

I had a 4x10 for as while. It was decent for the price but not very loud even with 750w through it. I sold it to a friend for $50, he still uses it.

I haven't tried any behringer heads, But I bought their 4X10 ultra bass cabinet just to tour with. I absolutely love it! It has great response, super low end, and easy to transport. (I added some new casters though) Our drummer first said, "oh you got a 'breakinger' eh?" He left very impressed.

I had a complete Behringer rig that I punished for two years, A BX 4500H 450 watt head,two BA410 1000 watt cabinets,and a BA115 600watt cabinet. Depending on the gig circumstances,dictated which cabinets I would use together. Still one of the best sounding rigs for outdoor use I have owned. One of the best values for a cheap rig going. The guy that bought it told me he loves it!

My experience of Behringer is limited to the ADA8000 and a mixer. Both just sounded horrid. They woudl pass a signal of course, but they weren't even up to the signal quality of my Mackie 1604 which is pretty much the cut off point of audio engineering quality. I know guys that wont even use a Mackie!
One issue I have seen a lot with Behringer gear is that the power supplies are either underdesigned or over utilised. Either way they give up the ghost quite often.
I also kinda resent the Bugera line of amps with their grandiose claims of 3600 watt amplifiers. If you guys are happy with Behringer gear more power to you. Thats even more Mesa, Traynor, Sunn etc for me.

I know we arent supposed to diss on import brands as part of the use policy. So I will just say that for ME as an American living in California, I am quite happy playing a Sterling made in San Luis Obispo CA through a Mesa made in Petaluma CA.

So, where'd you tour with it? Which band? You're talking about the 100 lb. BB410, right?
