Probably a stupid question... earphones direct into active bass?

Yeah I use sony over ear headphones, but I was referring to being able to play below E1.
That said, having watched a few bass players, I'm susprised how much time they spend up in the higher area, rather than being down in the low notes all the time :).

I'm still saving up for an amp. I'm gonna pickup a case and a stand at the same time, so I'm still a few weeks away from getting it.

In the absence of an amp, I've come up with a solution that works pretty well, provided I don't play too loudly :)...

When I play through earphones, I take out the B1x0n to PC connection and just plug earphones in. The PC to B1x0n connection is there so I can play along to tunes from my itunes, while hearing them through my earphones :).

I'm working on getting drunk actually*. But I might try and hammer out "Universal Garden" with F0 :).

*Though that might work in my favour. You know how folks think they're amazing singers when they're drunk? I'll be an amazing bass player after a few more beers :D.

Epilogue: I can now play (minus some of the more frilly bits) "It will be a good day", including the rather enjoyable slides :D.

And I can make a reasonable attempt at playing Universal Garden without humiliating myself :D.

I'm quite pleased with how things are coming along. 10 weeks on and I can now at least make a show of playing 26 songs that I like :).

Well I had an inexpensive but decent quality and small Behringer 4 channel mixing bd. Plug in bass and listen through the head phone out. Works fine + you can plug in a CD player and jamb along or plug in an out from the computer and play with anything from U-Tube including lessons. Try E-bay for $50.00 you'll find something for sure.
Hi I did the same thing for years and ran it through a 10 frequency EQ. Inexpensive and works great.
