Hi. I own an ampeg 610 cabinet with an SVT classic head. When the gain is at about 3-4 and the master is at about 4-5, the cabinet starts farting, the sound doesn't sound clean, and it sounds like the cabinet can't keep up with the power. I've brought this issue to a number of people, and after multiple tries of troubleshooting, we agree that its the cabinet that's the problem. They say that the speakers in the cabinet aren't powerful enough to handle everything the head is throwing at it. I've been told that there are a couple of things i can do to fix this. One is to add a 15 inch cabinet with the 610. I don't really want to do this because it means i'd have to lug around another cab. The other suggestion was to replace the speakers inside the cab. I was wondering if this would fix the problem. I was told JBL's would do the trick, and i was wondering if possibly a lower end model would also fix the problem. I don't know and can't find the rating for the ampeg speakers or the rating of any replacement speakers, so i don't know what or how to compare. Basically, I want to know how much better a speaker would i need for my cabinet to keep up with my head? Thanks.
and b) should work without any problems.
