[Problem] (Epiphone) Cant hear 2 strings

I'm a newbie who has a Gibson Epiphone and just got an amp. The problem I'm having is that when I plug the bass into the amp and play, I can only hear the 2 lowest strings coming through the amp.

I checked the cord/tried another cord -- that is not the problem. I adjusted the different volume controls and the problem was not resolved.

What's wrong guys? What do I need to do?

Sounds like you pickup is dead/dying. Or it's setup way too far away from the strings.

ampeg ba115t. i dont know what kind of epiphone it is, its quite old. the pickups say emg, thats all i see with writing on it.

Tap the polepieces of the pickup with a ferrous metal object. Could be height adjustment, or the magnets have fallen off the bottom of that part of the pickup.
