Problem with Volume Knob

Hi,

This actually isn't a bass question, but i guess you guys can answer it anyways

Our guitarplayer has a Jackson King V guitar that has a problem with the volume knob. It actually works mostly as an on/off switch. You have to turn it all the way up before any sound gets through.

What can the problem be.. I have checked the solderings and they all seem fine!

its probably a cheap pot, check the rating (probably 250 or 500k) and replace it.

happened to me. its most likely a pot thats gone bad. its a pretty simple fix once you find the same pot for a replacement.
