Profile and Japanese Basses

Reheating this old thread. My first bass ever was a Profile Silhouette. I recently found this baby, its an exact replica of this bass right here for $100 CDN... anyone know which "model" this is? Japan or Korea? I am thinking of making this a project bass with new tuners, bridge and perhaps some Fender custom shop pickups. Would you do it? The neck seems GREAT (but is missing markers on the side). Thank you for any advice, cheers.

hey Puff-----that bass is pretty much what I bought used ($100 ish IIRC) sometime last year. The neck on it was effectively pooched though, and some time later I stumbled on a used Squier Jazz neck. Threw some SD QP's in it, a Fender "vintage" bridge, and did an "off-white" pickguard. Still poking away at it's playability, but that's part of the journey right?
