Idk, its very close for me, both are great songwriters, and David Gilmour performs some of the best solos I've ever heard, but I'm casting my vote for Rush, just because they are extremely musically talented, (more than floyd) and they had the courage to simply throw themselves into new genres they hadn't explored before, giving each few albums a different theme of sorts, which really kept the band fresh and exiting, in my opinion. For example, their first Album was a hard rocker, their next two were sort of prog, but when those albums didn't do to well, they were at risk of losing their record label, so they composed their most ballsy project ever, a 20 minute long prog rock epic, launching themselves into the prog genre and saving them from losing their record label. their next few albums were some of the best prog rock albums ever invented, and then with the transition into 80's synth prog, Rush gained a whole new fanbase, and since then, they've kept changing.

Alright, time for a throwdown. Which is the better prog rock band? I've always loved both...but since I predominantly listen to Rush all the time, I've been in a Floyd kick as of late.

Pick a side...or is it a draw? :bassist:
I always liked Pink Floyd... but I love Rush. I wouldn't rank them against each other, because they are both amazing... but if I picking the CD, it'll be a Rush CD. :D
