Double Bass Progress Report...My 2nd Request for Feedback!

I'm happy to be able make my second round at posting music I was a part of. This type of function is what really makes this website special for me. I often hold off on posting for one reason or another. Because of this I'm excited to get my hands on a live recording of a group I'm a part of, even if it was done by a pocket recorder, complete with crowd chatter.

Here is a link to my first Talkbass call for feedback more that a year ago. I have studied consistently during this period, concentrating on the classical work (excerpts and baroque solos) in daily practice. Also I have taken Jazz studies more serious, buying a piano, transcribing a McCoy solo (still at it), focusing on metronome work, Fuquesq ear training, and of course continuous listening.

Another piece, vital to the puzzle, has been a recent development. By chance I became part of a Quartet at the local college just after the new year. Until that point my gigging experience for the previous two years was dominated by my acoustic swing group (I go through pains to not say the words "gypsy jazz"). Besides this I had only made some small attempts at playing "JAZZ" because for one reason or another it was not yet time. Well now I am lucky to have a vehicle to see new territory, and it's the terrain which I have dreamt about for as long as I can remember.

This Quartet features a sax player and drummer who are both students at that school. The group helps to fulfill their "combo" requirement for school. The piano player is a high school student who like me, plays in the group for fun.

I'll hold off on my own comments for now on these recordings. Also we played a noteworthy gig the next week at a big performence hall which I'd like to mention eventually.
Thanks to any and all who take the time to check this out
and even more to those who can offer any advice, feedback, or comments.

I love talkbass.

PS. (I used the first file sharing site which came up on google. Please let me know if it's a problem.)

The 'problem' is they are posted in the .wma format. I am a Mac guy too and in that format they stream with the Windows Media Player which is a additional download for Macs. I have it on my laptop but it is kind of a pain. Any chance you could post as .mp3. The format they are in is a real drag for us Mac nerds.

Also for some reason I'm not getting the left channel. Might be the headphone out on my 5 year old laptop but I wasn't having that problem with other audio files.

btw What I heard so far sound really nice. The bass is a little low in the mix but I can really hear your growth.

No problem on my end. I was digging "Footprints" yesterday. It played right away on what is apparently my default player, which is the "mismatch jukebox" that came with our Dell. I wish I could hear the bass solo a little better, but what I heard sounded good. I enjoyed the tenor playing in particular.
