Awesome! thanks for this - I just 'woke up' that zombie thread with a post showing the Tri-Sonic pu's - seeing the better pics I bet I'm right. A Tele bass pu doesn't have a metal cover. You can see his bass has a Burns because when he turns you can see light playing on metal w/4 poles.

He was Dutch and had a entirely different (hard to pronounce) name - changed it for 'show-biz' reasons.

Dick Diamonde!Isn't it? The bass player could have doubled for Lurch on The Addams Family!I watched a doc on them - pretty interesting. Aussies but all from different countries as kids - they all met in the outback projects there in the early '60s. They became huge in Australia and 'invaded' the UK in the late '60s, so having access to Burns pu's wouldn't have been a stretch.

that song wasn’t too far before they went to England, no real idea when the clip was.

Thanks for clearing these points up - I was impressed after watching this doc, I didn't know much about them other than "Friday On My Mind".
did you pick up on the narrator ? The late Bernard “Doc” Neeson, lead singer of The Angels.
In America, we know them as "Angel City" because there is a 60's act called The Angels who sang "My Boyfriend's Back," and a 70's glam band called Angel. Honestly, I've only heard one song by them, "Marseilles," which got some good airplay, and I thought they sounded like AC/DC with a singer who couldn't sing that high
but danged if that isn't a real catchy song.

Another world unknown to me, although there is a certain segment of '70s rock I didn't follow. During the late mid-70's/mid-'80s I was more focused on Jazz and Classical.

Just arrived. It's just a piece of plastic - but I'm really excited to have it! Like I said, a historic link to 1963 Burns of London. 
Web surfing for a transcription or play-along video etc to help me cheat and learn a Shadows song called Naughty Nippon Nights. And came across this all-Burns playing band. I like it

Wonder if any of these guys are on the Burns fb page... in some ways because Burns keeps going in and out of business, it seems to create more of a cult status with the Shadows as torch-bearers. Interesting that...

Funny, I thought we'd have seen a couple of JIO builds while we're isolating.
Well, all things considered my life is sorta on hold for now. We're moving on May 1st so everything is getting boxed and I don't know when Pat will be able to complete the finishing on the Vista Sonic because of the current disruption of businesses. If it comes back before the move I'll get it back together as I'm leaving the parts for it out until the last minute. A volatile time...

1969 but playing a pre-CBS Oly white J (no dot/bound/pops or block & bound which would have been new in '69) - love the dancers!
