to be amongst such experts is refreshing,and i was told not to believe everything i read on the net correct ? why should i believe anyone here as well ? its a mystery,its not what it seems to be,its always a mystery to me
I read an old bass player mag that said that this topic was one that Jaco loved to fuel,he used different pronounceations himself to mess with people.
I guess we will never know for sure

Well the answer to the first part is easy: Anyone that has the live albums, CDs, or DVDs, and an ear can easily hear...it's JAH-KO.

As far as the old Bass Player article, I have every Bass Player from day one and I don't remember such a statement, but I'll look into it. However, not to beat a dead horse, but the only (i.e. not different ones) pronounciation he or anybody else ever used on a live recording was, you guessed it,....JAH-KO.
