I am lovin' my Vintage Modified Fretless Jazz and Vintage Modified Strat!

So much, I am frothing over the 50's Classic Vibe Tele:

Though the Vintage Blond finish is causing some choice issues:

I have an FSR Fender Jazz, which I love... an exception in my opinion.

I really think Squier is underrated - I see threads where people won't buy a Squier because of the headstock logo. They even want to remove it.

BUFFOONS I say!

Beautifully constructed (better than the Mexican Fenders I've setup for friends) and great sounding!

Someday I'll get 2 of each!

I agree and I always say if it sounds good and plays well for you then it should not matter what it says on the head stock. The CV and VM Squier basses are quality products. Everyone has opinions however usually it's just gear snobs who can never look past brand names and price tags.

As has been echoed many times here - Squier has really upped their game in recent years with some nice quality instruments. Basses and guitars.
I have an older version VM Jazz and reach for it just as much as my MIA, CIJ or MIM instruments.
Squier is now offering more variety of decent instruments too.

It will please you to learn that your FSR was made in Mexico. No American workers were employed in the manufacture of your axes.

The Mexican aspect was my point - sorry if you missed that. An exception to most of the Mexican Fenders I come across with major setup issues.

Who made the computer you're posting from?

Wholeheartedly agree. My next purchase is going to be a VM Jazz Bass from Squier.

Might do some work to the pickups, depending on how they feel. But apart from that (And possibly ashtray/pickup cover) Not gonna do much more to it.

They are solid good-quality instruments that get the job done, and don't kill my wallet.

I have several high end basses, (Fenders, Rick, MM) and have owned custom made and a couple boutique basses. I also have 3 Squiers and a CV strat and think they're all great.

My six string electric guitar is an old Japanese made Squier Bullet. It isn't even close to stock, but the neck is original and is excellent. I'm ornery enough to think it would be a good idea to sand off a Fender logo and put an old Squier Buillet 1 logo onto a Fender.

I don't think I've seen people talking trash about Squiers on TB. Saying that their craftsmanship isn't on the same level as a Fender MIA that costs 3-5 times more is not the same as saying they aren't a good instrument. I've read nothing but good things about them on TB along with people defending them against non existent attacks.

I have the FSR Fender Jazz bass. Played a couple gigs with it so far. I bought the Squier VM 70's jazz bass in candy apple red recently as a backup up and rehearsal bass. It's noticeably lighter than the FSR (the Squier is maple), sounds a little more brighter in the mids, but the FSR definitely feels more solid than the Squier. I really like the gloss neck on the Squier.

My next impending GAS purchase, at least right now, is a Geddy Lee jazz. Just have to get some gig money in for the end of the year and then happy Xmas to me

Last Monday I played a Squier VM Jazz just like this one, and it looked, sounded and played fantastic. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one and gig with it all the time. I don't even think it needs anything replaced. The pickups sounded great, the neck was top notch, and the electronics worked just fine. A quality instrument indeed!

I've been following this thread. I am a HUGE supporter of Squier. I'd love to get my hands on a Classic Vibe, or Vintage Modified series. It's really disappointing that "the headstock logo makes you a decent or terrible musician" I'm in full support of squiers. Coming from a RIC guy. Keep the pictures coming!

I own a Squier Jazz, Strat and Tele. All great guitars.

I generally gig my Fodera and play my Gibson Les Paul Studio when I play guitar, but all 3 Squiers get played regularly. Anyone that bashes Squiers for "being Squiers" is a dumb dumb IMO.
