Proud Pappa Moment

Man, I'm so jealous. There's such an array of music played in my house; everything from classical to grundge to bluegrass. Beginning when my daughter was 2yo or so, we'd groove around the house listening to '60s hippie, '70s classic rock, roots reggae, blues of all ages. It was great.

Ever since she turned 8yo though, I haven't been able to pull her attention away from that Disney (IMO) crap. That's been a few years now. Sad to say, I think she's a lost cause.

It's just a phase, she'll soon get over Disney stuff since it's for children her age. However, she might start listening to Lady Gaga or that Ke$ha stuff my sister listens to, since thats whats "in".

When I was growing up (born in 1991) my Mom listened to country of the time, and my Dad listened to J. Geils, Bruce Springsteen, U2, Southside Johnny, Crosby, Stills, and Nash, Earth, Wind, and Fire, etc. Needless to say, I have a pretty diverse musical background.

I listen to Motown, classical, 60's rock, 70's rock, 80's pop, etc.

I'm excited to pass music down to my kids someday :-)

It's funny how we get attached to the music our parents listened to when we were children. I'm still a closet Neil Diamond fan because of it!

Of course, my boys also know the songs on the EP my band just put out and request it all the time! They even heard me on an online radio show where I was being interviewed. Turns out the DJ's mom was listening on her iPhone and my boys heard one of the songs and were like "that's my dad's band!" and then when I was talking they said, "that's my dad!"

Though I still wanna shoot myself when Hootie and the Blowfish comes on(my dad listened to them religiously for a few years...:rollno:) I can't help but sing along to the Wallflowers whenever it comes on for the same reason, and I have gone YEARS without hearing them, but as soon as One Headlight comes on you can call me "Shredder" Dylan cause I memorized all the lyrics when I was a kid.
