Providing Power to M13 plus 2 pedals w/ 1 Spot

I'd like to provide power to an M13, a VT Bass and an MXR M82 with a 1 Spot.

The 1 Spot is rated for 2600mA. The AC adapter for the M13 is rated for 2000mA. I have no idea how much juice is needed for the VT and the MXR.

What would happen if the total power required for the 3 devices exceeded 2600mA? I could simply drive the 3 units with my 1 Spot and see what happens, but since I have no clue about electrical engineering, I better ask first!

Maybe, I'd be pretty hesitant to use it on my M13.

On top of that I was pretty sure the onespot was rated at 1700 mA, unless they released a new version that has more reserve.

If it doesn't damage the pedal due to the voltage requirements, it shouldn't damage anything due to lack of current capacity. It just wont work.

You can give it a go, but I wouldn't be surprised if the results were less then desirable. If it works, I wanna full report, though ;).

I do remember reading somewhere that the Line6 stuff doesn't play well with others on a one spot daisy chain.

I use a MKS Power Pad II for all my pedals including an M9. It works great.

8 Boss style outputs that put out a total of 1700 mA. Plus a separate AC outlet that gives you 6000 mA. Sadly the outputs aren't isolated. But for under $100 I'm not complaining.

No, a simple cable can't do that. I would reckon that the 'line 6' cable would be for their stompbox range.

Their are a number of power supplies than can provide AC and DC in the same box that might be worth a look. But I can guarantee that they won't be cheap. That's a lot of work to get into one box!

Have a look through this list for something. You need to take note of voltage, AC or DC and current requirements for each of your pedals.

IMO you would be better off attaching everything to a pedalboard including a power-strip and use the PSU that came with the M13.

It's also worth noting that I have it on good authority that you shouldn't try and draw more than 1000mA down a daisy chain PSU, you run the risk of melting the cable!

couldn't get mine to power up off of an isolated power out from either a Supa Charger or a PP2. dunno what he's doing, but bad power to an all digital box sounds like a bad idea to me.

i just plug into the courtesy outlet on my PP2. works fine.

welllllllll......... if i remember right, i think i got mine to work with a y-cable and the Stompbox series adapter, but it only turned on for a minute and it kept powering off and on after you'd select patches.

and again, i talked to a Line6 rep. by all means, if you can get it to work in a way that it's not designed to, more power to you (baddddddd pun), but if the manufacturer of the device tells me i shouldn't, the makers of the power supply tells me i shouldn't, and it works a little wonky when i tried it before i called both sources, i'm not going to run my $400 pedal that way.

Yeah, I wish there was a better warning against this. Trying to do my best here. Unlike the M13, which is a huge monster, there is no obvious reason why the M5 wouldn't work with the 1 Spot other than Line 6 and 1 Spot are apparently mortal enemies. Oh well.
