Pseudo Supro for Winter Build Off 2022

Strung it with a B string to see if it will hit the mark. This is a Fodera brand string at 0.120" diameter. Smallest I could lay my hands on. It seems to be correct pitch and not too floppy so I am confident it will work on this short of a scale.

Slow progress! I am getting ready to mount the pickups though.

Pickups are mounted and laying out for the controls.

Next is fitting the border trim between the two halves.

It looks quite different with the trim in place. I have to locate the mounting blocks for the back and wire it up and then the back can be put on.

Finally got a few moments to mount the pots and knobs. Time to wire it up and get the back mounted. Then the last two strings and a bit of adjustment and we'll have a bass.

The tape is to protect the surface whilst working on it. It will all disappear.

I know! It just happens to spike my curiosity because it gives me an "I can't see it!" feeling.

Well one of my Dearmonds went dead and I can't seem to get a connection back to the little tail of a wire left there so If I can't get it fixed I might not finish. How many days left?

I see no issue with one pickup. Just say it has the Supro “mystery pickup” in the bridge.

Okay it was the bridge pickup. Bad connection to the coil wire. Took several attempts but I managed to get it back working! So I have to epoxy in a couple of blocks to screw the back to and then a little wiring and I should be good to go.
