Today was my last day working at Peavey. It was a pleasure working there for 14 years total. I met a lot of great people and had a blast, plus I learned a whole lot. I left on good terms and was told that I can go back if I want. I plan to go back and bother Hartley every now and then at the very least!

I received a job offer working in the automotive industry that I felt I couldn't turn down for the benefit of my family, plus it seems like it will be a very cool job.

I will now be posting as a bass player. I will be glad to continue answering questions about Peavey amps if I can.

I will be moving to the Atlanta area, so hopefully I will find good band/gigging opportunities. Please hit me up if you know of open jam nights in that area so I can meet other musicians.

Hopefully this won't come off as too dramatic, but I feel the need to make this announcement on TB just to be clear about why I removed my disclosure statement, and so my posts are not possibly deleted. I'm not sure if the amps forum is the right place to post this, but it's where I post the most, so it seems appropriate.

Best of luck Bobby, wish you the very best. You aren't alone, Jerrold Tiers moved into the power inverter and alternative power industry. There are so many opportunities really awesome opportunities out there waiting for somebody to make their contribution. I kind of went the other way, from industrial controls industry to the MI industry (many years ago).

Congratulations. I have really enjoyed reading your post. I am a big fan of the older Peavey bass's. If I remember correctly my favorite band "Kansas" makes Atlanta their home so maybe you and Billy Greer can hang out. Anyway best of luck & thank you

Don't do it!!! I was in automotive for 25 years!! Get out while you still can!! Save yourself!!
Of course I'm assuming your not going to be some lowly tech out in the field but if you're going to be in engineering?? Watch out! There's nobody more hated by auto techs than the engineers that design those s*^+ boxes were paid to fix!!

What part of Atlanta? I'm just north of the city. Are you going to work for Porsche? They built a sweet race track outside of the headquarters.
