I just bought a passive Mike Lull PJ5, used, and noticed that it has a push/pull switch on the blend knob. Anyone know what it might be for? I sent an e-mail to Lull but haven't heard back from them.

Pull switch on a passive Lull?

You should just give them a call. Mike or one of his sales guys will answer the phone and have you straightened out in short order.
Well, the plot thickens. I got an e-mail back from Paul at Lull, and he said they only use push-pull switches on their active basses, so it's likely that someone modified this bass. I'll take the pickguard off this weekend and see what's inside ...

Well, the mystery is now solved. The person who modified it very helpfully drew a circuit diagram and taped it to the inside of the pickguard. The switch is on the blend knob and works as follows: in the down position, it goes from 100% neck pickup (clockwise) to 50/50 (counterclockwise), in the up position, it goes from 100% bridge pickup (clockwise) to 50/50 (counterclockwise). Strange ... not sure what the advantage is ... but it does work.
Does seem a bit bizarre. I'd return it to a regular blend knob and use the knob for a series parallel mod since you already have the right knob for it.
