It's a tough wait... I've played several of these and loved all of them... I just wish I didn't look so silly with a short scale.

Lakland had mentioned new colors for this bass for 2015, and here we are in May and still nothing.

Why would a short scale look silly? Does playing a Strat look silly? If anything, long scale basses look silly in my eyes.

I don't think they look strange at all, but I prefer short scale basses anyway. I do prefer the 2+2 headstock from the other Lakland hollowbody, but it isn't a dealbreaker. Everything about this bass is exactly what I want; short scale, two pickups, lightweight, fully hollowbody, decent upper register access, attractive binding, and good build quality. My only concern is how it hangs. It doesn't look like it will neck dive, but four in line tuners plus a light body could be an issue.

Does Anyone know what kind of strings come stock? Are they Labella Deep Talking Flats?
