For what I love about the bass this is one of the best solos I have ever heard.

Every note was soulful and perfect! I knew you would enjoy it!Very nice.
Wait.......What was that at 00:39? SMDH! At 00:50???Nice! That one goes back to his P-bass down-under days.
Returning the favor: Here's one from last winter with Dane playing a slightly more "out" vibe on "I Shot the Sheriff," on the ERB he's been crushing for a few years:
omg, never heard of Dane Alderson. Great player!
Man, we got killer bass players all over Virginia.Right? When he's not on the road, Dane plays a weekly Monday night gig at a little restaurant/bar here in Charlottesville. For such a small town, we have a lot of good bassists here, but he's on another plane entirely. It's been an education.

I'm sure they do. I haven't listened to their new stuff much yet. I am a huge Jimmy Haslip fan and it's hard for me to move on. He's WAY better then Felix was though. He just didn't seem to fit the band at all.I hope the Yellowjackets give him lots of space to play.
Jimmy Haslip is great, but it's really hard for me to watch a left-handed player. Some part of my mind tries to play along, and it doesn't work and makes me feel all funny inside. So... Yeah. What were we talking about?I'm sure they do. I haven't listened to their new stuff much yet. I am a huge Jimmy Haslip fan and it's hard for me to move on. He's WAY better then Felix was though. I hear ya. I actually had a lesson with Jimmy about 6 years ago. He sat across from me and his bass went the same direction mine did. Actually, after a few minutes, I kind of got used to it.Jimmy Haslip is great, but it's really hard for me to watch a left-handed player. I'm also a die-hard fan of Yellowjackets and Jimmy Haslip ... honestly Dane's performance on the latest Jackets' record reveals some lack of integration between him and the more jazz- oriented rest of the band IMHO ...I'm sure they do.
