less but its still there up to the 8/9th fret
Is the string buzzing against a fret somewhere? Is the string twisted?
To my knowledge, string twisting causes a bit of a warbly sound, not a metallic, semi-distorted sound. The OP's bass sounds like it just has some fret buzz and will need a setup.
Adjust the bridge saddle up on the E string....
When you cleaned it you likely took all the strings off and so released all pressure against the truss rod. When you reinstalled the strings, it didn't quite return the neck to the original position so now the bridge needs to be adjusted.
50 euros for strings ... not sure what the exchange rate is but i know that equates more than 50 USD ... sheesh sorry I cant think of what you mean by warbly as opposed to metallic/distorted.
OP's bass?
i cant really find a topic that clearly explains how this works.... soooo how do i do this?(just moving it didnt make it go away)
EDIT:
I googled and read about it, checked wether the 12th fret was good for each string, moved the saddles a bit and it didn't help.
