PYPB 37: In a row?

I can make a nice home for the RB. I've been considering one for my overdrive-less pedalboard.

Would you say that the RB and the Darkglass B#K are apples and sardines? Are they pretty close in what they do?

I've been diggin on the Sounds of the DG stuff,...but **** me; I'm not about to drop $300 on one.

Or I could just up the gain on my SVT and have an always on OD.

lol. i'm not the best person to ask. i only use my RB as a preamp, i don't have a traditional head it's always board -> power amp -> speakers. so i dunno about the RB as a OD pedal. the B3k is a bit darker i think though.

but as a preamp? the RB KILLS. so. damn. tasty. love this thinger.

"this would never have happened if you'd have dabbed."

"STOP SAYING DAB!!"

"Dino! you've GOT to try this! it's like somebody with a fever is YELLING at my junk!"

....... i'm an ocd fastidious toilet paper wasting WHORE in the bathroom.

FURK. off today, working on Is This Safe mountings for the Rusty Box underneath a PT-Pro to make room for an incoming M9 without ditching any pedals. durn it.

lemme know how that goes.... ever since you first mentioned it, Ive been keen to do the same with my BDDI.

(putting it off cuz it seems like it'll be a MISSION)

just eyeballed it. well, tried it. it hits one of the knobs on the ground. canna do that. was thinking about changing the feet to make it taller, but then there's issues with putting it in a case. am SO ordering a Mono PT-Pro case soon's they're available, might see if they'll give me the dimensions so i can see if that would work with it.

so, Pedal Shufflin's are go. i have 3 filters if with the Xero, Brain Freeze and BEF Pro, 3 normal fuzzes with the TAFM, Heavy Mecha and PPB. finally have the BEF Pro wired up with a TAFM going into it on my desktop, 6 days off work and no band practice until Monday to spend the time it deserves to figure out how much i like it.

gonna come down to the BEF Pro or one of the Triple Same Function pedz getting bumped. BUMP.

poor little efx BAYBAYS.

Here's mine currently:

lol. if i WAS going to open up something that important to other people's opinions, at least this is a repository of mad knowledge.

it's silly..... i know that it doesn't come across to 98% of the people that will see you live, but it freaks me out when i go into a fuzzed part that i know the higher notes of a chorded part would come through way better with a PPB and i only have a TAFM and a Heavy Mecha on board. if it comes down to a Even Harder Than Sophie's Choice situation, it'll probably be a filter to go. i'm kinda digging the BEF Pro so far. setting up the Hot Hand right now.

yah. the way the Heavy Mecha stays crazy low end and kinda squeeze compresses the signal is awesome. but it doesn't treat the 2 highest strings i'm working with very well. they kinda disappear in practice. the TAFM is fine with high stuff, except at the more synthy gated setting i'm using it at. it's..... it's a dilemma.

FIRST WORLD PROBLEMS BISHES.

Great board Thor!!
Ummm question, the microfuzz vs the PPB.. Go!

BHENDY! Dont let the XeroD go on the chopping block. "C'mon Man!!"

lol. well, no WAY will i ever sell mine. i just mean that right now the Brain Freeze and Xero and BEF Pro have a lot of crossover, and i just spent an hour playing with the Hot Hand for the first time..... that thing's staying. it's a LOT of fun. not near as gimmicky as i thought it'd be.

hah. i'm SO not a slacker. really. i've only had the BEF Pro and Hot Hand for like 2 months now. and JUST now sitting down with it. it's got some neat stuff in here. i'm a little burnt on envelope filter quacky funk filter (i SUCK at funk might be a big part of that), so the envelope triggered filter stuff being too digital doesn't really bother me on the BEF Pro. a half this size version with 2 save spots that takes the Hot Hand sensor? that would be GOLDEN.

Mono's making board cases now?

yahp. they announced them at NAMM. i think for sale in a month or two? i ADORE my bass case from them. so want one. soooooooooooooooooooooon. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOON.

OK, I finally have my pedal board assembled for real! After over 20 years of playing and about 2 years of various pedals on and off a board...semi-mounted....here is my real purposefully put together board:

I am still working on the chain but I don't stack too many effects....

EHX LPB-1 > Empress Compressor > EHX Bass Micro Synth > EHX Enigma Q Balls > EHX Ravish Sitar > EHX Pog2 > Boss RT-20 > Analogman Bi-Chorus with deep switch > Wounded Paw Attack Goat > Viva-Analog 360+ Fuzz all powered by a Supa Charger

I am a bit constrained by size...so the Pedaltrain-1 was as big as I could go. I hate having pedals turned sideways...but that's the only way it would work.

I figure this gives me a lot of versatility. The only thing _I_ think I am missing is a delay....but I am not sure if I would ever use it (but for some reason the Ravish Sitar seems useful...go figure).

The Engima and the Ravish were having problems with power. I have to put them on inputs 5 & 6 for power isolation. However, the viva-analog is a little noisy now....it doesn't like my power source, but is dead quiet with a dedicated wall wart. I had to daisy chain power to get 10 boxes of the Supa...I may add another power source to get more isolated channels (however the 360 Fuzz is on its own input already). I am really happy with all of the pedals....so many fun toys to play with...

However...that is just my effects board. I usually gig amp-less and have been using a VT Bass Deluxe as my amp coloration pedal....I added a new toy here as well and had to move them to their own board.

SO here is my VT Bass Deluxe and my Viva-Analog 360+ lite. The 360+ requires 24v so it needs a wall wart. I just use an extension cord and velcro'ed it to the tray in the pedaltrain mini. I am still experimenting with this setup....but I think it will give me some nice Ampeg AND Acoustic 360 mojo!

......OK....maybe I can stop buying pedals now...I am out of room!
