PYPB 44: ...like Tetris with boxes, wires and cables

None of the One Spot Pro's I'm familiar with have 9v to 18 v adjustable on ALL outputs, or the small size and foot print, as well as nowhere near the Milliamps available on each output compared to a Cioks DC7.

They are decent, but having tried those, as well as the Cioks DC7, the DC7 is a whole different league than most power supplies, and isn't much more $$ than the One Spot Pros.

Every person I know with this tuner has these lines on the screen. I also thought I had damaged it, but then I saw it is a common thing. It's a pitty because it's an awesome tuner.

If I had the chance to design my ultimate power supply, I think I would end up with exactly the Cioks DC-7 with the possibility to expand it with a 4 or an 8. It's basically perfect. My only beef is their using those connectors which mean you kinda have to buy cables from them but they do stay in pretty tightly and once you have enough (the DC-7 comes with enough but the Eventide Powermax didn't).

I'd also add that I really like the RCA connectors. As a cioks loyalist (I currently have 6 cioks power supplies) if you are like me and regularly add and remove pedals from different boards, it pays to stay with a single type of connector so that you can easily build new boards and have all the adapters and splitters you might need.

With the addition of the Disaster Area DMC Micro I now have access to 128 presets on the C4, 16 on the Radical Delay DX and 16 on the Syntax Error. Also with careful cabling i was able bring back the modded Boss DD-5 (love the reverse, tap-tempo and overall clean digi-delays) and still keep the Zoom MS-100 BT (this is mostly on synth/filter duties but those delays and reverbs can't be denied). Besides that my board has been relatively stable for months now and I've been mostly free of GAS as well. All of these tools are great and can be subtle, insane and everything in between. All is used for it's purpose and add dimensions to tonality, sound manipulation and with strings being controlled with my fingers and hands there is a responsiveness only found in a bass guitar for me. My quest is not to "track" a synth pedal but rather to use it for everything it has (limitations and quirks) to sculpt a sound in my head. If anyone needs me all be using fancy pedals to make meow and quack sounds!

After having a relatively stable pb for a few years I started making changes, most recently the one on post #12314. I'm seeing at least 1 more (a clean boost) and maybe 2 if I can squeeze in my beloved BSW.

But before this recent pedal-shuffling, I made a couple of other changes in a different department, the firsts in that department in 13 years of bass-playing:
  • I bought my 1st active bass, an SBMM ray24ca;
  • After using run-of-the-mill stock rounds, I put flats (Chromes, in my case) on all my basses.

Those 2 changes have a "way huger" impact on the sound than any pedal I ever played and it took quite a bit of tweaking to get the sound I like from my basses, in particular the active-flats-equipped bass.
