PYPB 44: ...like Tetris with boxes, wires and cables

A Sweetwater shipment has arrived, containing a JHS Summing Amp Pedal. So, now it’s a party!

16A762F9-01D3-4F7A-BE2B-EF7B5AB5DB2A.jpeg

Bass > Korg Pitchblack > MXR a/b box.

A channel is Dunlop Justin Chancellor Wah > Darkglass Alpha Omega Photon.
B channel is Darkglass Hyper Luminal compressor > Darkglass Alpha Omicron > Morley 20/20 Power Wah > MXR Bass Chorus

A and B joined at the JHS summing amp. Darkglass Element is there for when I want to either run channel B on its own DI, or to run both channels on the same DI.

I wasn’t sure how well the JHS summing amp would work, but thus far it sounds amazing. Either or both channels come through clearly, and I have a lot of interesting room to play around with some really cool mixes.

Oy... so, I may have been a little too in love with EQD when I was falling down the YouTube rabbit hole last night. Specifically, in love with the one pedal of theirs I already own, and their top-mount goodness. So, I went on a Reverb buying spree

Here:
Broughton HPF/LPF

Coming:

EQD Plumes
EQD Hoof
EQD Afterneath
EQD Warden
Bananana Matryoshka Bass Synth

On The Fence:
Keeley Bassist (if I love the Warden)
MXR Analog Chorus (Just didn't vibe with it)
MXR Bass Octave Deluxe: It's a good pedal, I just don't use an octave much.
MXR Bass Envelope Filter: Once again, it's a good pedal, but a standard envelope just isn't really calling my name right now.

If I love the Plumes / Hoof, I'll probably closet the Aftershock for a while. If I don't, I'll probably move them to my guitar board. The Warden will probably end up on my guitar board if I dig the Keeley more.

For reference: My guitar board right now is a Pedaltrain Jr. with nothing on it but a power supply and a dream.

Not sure how much has changed since the last time I posted this. View attachment 4564436 Dirt is always coming and going and getting changed out. I don't normally have this many gain stages but I have the space for it right now so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ . The Super Collider is cool, not sure if it's a keeper though. There's always some Muff-based circuit on my board. Caroline Guitar Company's Crom has been getting sub'd in that spot, really enjoying that one. I've been writing on guitar more than anything lately. Everything on here sounds great with bass, save for maybe the Plumes, which is awesome but does shelve some bass with higher gain settings. The plain box under the Flint is a favorite/tap tempo switch from Saturn Works. MC6 controls the HX Stomp which handles EQ, modulation, etc, etc. The Ditto+ is newish and awesome. The rug ties the room together.

That ssbs mini looks great.

That ssbs mini looks great.

When I commissioned this one I mentioned to Brian that I'd always wanted two. He surprised me by saying that he built a second and that he'd give me a discount on it. So, in the end I ended up with a matching one in silver sparkle. It feels gluttonous and awesome. How could I say no.

There are a bunch of the sets out there. TAFM, mini, and F.ck that have a design in common or that cuts across all 3.

I did some quick googling, the best I could find in a 2 min search was a pair...

That last sentence :roflmao:

One black Friday several years ago Brian was offering some national geographic prints as well.
I opted for the stamped Mini, TAFM and Buzzz

Modulation in front of a filter is novel. Do you run them together ever?
I don’t remember where I heard it… maybe its a Boosty thing, but I read about running a phaser into an envelope filter a long time ago, and have been doing it that way for a while. I think it sounds great and yes, i’m playing Fantastic Voyage, and PYT running the phaser into the filter.

Signal chain:

Korg tuner > Diamond Bass Comp Junior > Boss OC2 octave > Darkglass Vintage MicroTubes > Xotic bass BB preamp > looper {in the loop: Maxon AF-9 > Boss CE2B chorus > Boss Ph1r phaser > Boss PN2 tremolo } > Neunaber Echelon delay

What's under the hood?

I think you should call out the name of your looper, I have a similar one from Bright Onion, it might be the same one as yours.

I try to give them/him props when I can, great stuff, great options and great guy, very supportive.

Although he's in the UK I got mine in just a few days here in the States.
