I wish I had the tools, room, time and expertise to redo a pedal, there's one I really want that has garish artwork that just messes with my OCD, I wish they offered a vanilla version of it.
Well, I can tell you that I did most of my rehousing work living in a one-bedroom apartment and using nothing more sophisticated than a cheap Radio Shack soldering iron, with occasional help from a cheap hand drill and some sandpaper. I didn't have any "expertise" other than what I could learn from trial and error or looking up info online (the one exception is that I did get some soldering tips from my father, which was nice, although there are thousand videos and tutorials online with similar info). Obviously etching work was done by someone else, but it really isn't especially expensive.
