PYPB 44: ...like Tetris with boxes, wires and cables

Here's my setup. I don't like the Copilot Orbit so I'll probably sell it and probably buy a RAT. And when I have enough money, there is some free space for Iron Ether Xerograph . The pedalboard is Emma AmARHyll 75,a great alternative to Pedaltrain with substantially lighter case.

Signal chain is: TC Polytune --> EBS Multicomp --> Boss LS2 loop send--> IE Subterranea --> Boss OC2 --> Catalinbread SFT clone --> ZVex Mastotron clone with wet/dry blend --> Copilot FX Orbit --> IE Oxide --> G-Lab bass wah --> IE Polytope --> Catalinbread Semaphore (controled by Roland EV5 expression pedal) --> Boss LS2 loop return --> amp

I use T-Rex Chameleon and Harley Benton Power Plant Junior power supplies. Harley Benton is surprisingly good given how cheap it is.

That's the first time I've seen a compressor fitted under a pedal board. Is it always on? It's a great compressor btw, I have one myself...it's a complete no-brainer...a three way switch and 2 knobs, one of which is gain....life doesn't get much easier than this

My compressor is under the board too, sort of, hidden under the top shelf of my two-tier board. It's always on and the knobs have a strip of tape over them.

I do have an EBS compressor too, it's nice, it's on my smaller board.

I bought it a few days a go so I haven't had the chance to try it on gig, but yes - the idea is that it will always be on, as it should because it sounds great!

I've been using the PPB as an almost always on tone enhancer and the EP as a straight boost. But I'm starting to think that maybe I'll use the PPB as a straight boost and ditch the EP. In time I'll figure it out. So far I love the PPB! What a great pedal it is.

My compressor is under the board too, sort of, hidden under the top shelf of my two-tier board. It's always on and the knobs have a strip of tape over them.

I do have an EBS compressor too, it's nice, it's on my smaller board.

I generally have my compressor off, but it's there if I need that punch. I find I also need to switch it off if I want to use my envelope filters....the compressor kills the dynamics! So I have mine on my board...but I only really use 3 settings, off / medium (tube sim) / high (dual mode).
I like your idea of having a hidden area for not so often changed effects....I like that a lot.

I've tried the compressor both ways and actually prefer it before the filter, on a mild setting. It doesn't kill the dynamics, it tames it so the filter, as well as dirt pedals, becomes more controllable and makes the response more even across the strings. Maybe it's a bit of a band-aid on poor technique and a bass that has less than perfectly even output, but so be it, it works for me. YMMV, and all that.

My latest set up ....

Played a upscale wedding reception last weekend (that paid great) in a really old B&B so they had no facility for a band. They set us up outside in the yard on the grass. I stood with one foot in a hole & we froze our butts off .... you got to love it.

The people were great people & we had fun despite being cold & the bride stayed in her dress the whole time even though she had to be miserable cold.
