does anyone have one yet? i just got mine and haven't even plugged it in yet and i'm thinking of returning it. it has switches on the sides, for piezo boost, blend, mix and a few others that they either forgot to put buttons on, or they have a horrible engineering dept. in other words, i need a toothpick or something to stick inside the box through the hole where it looks like the button should go in order to engage the switch. was this a manufacturing error or a gross engineering oversight? am i supposed to keep toothpicks in my gig bag incase i need to make a change on the gig? it's hard to find pictures of this unit on the internet from angles other than the promo shot they have on the site. it's hard to tell from that one if there are buttons or not. i'll be totally shocked if they forgot to put buttons on mine, but i'd be even more shocked if they did it that way on purpose. they have buttons sticking out of the sides of their di boxes (radial), so why wouldnt they put some on this unit?

Double Bass pz-pre

I got one a PZ-PRE just a few days ago and I think this is the best preamp I've ever owned for DB. It sounds just as clean and warm as my Summit Audio pre AND it has 2 inputs, eq, an effect loop, separate pre/post DI, hi-pass filter, notch eq filter and more.
IMO The switches that recessed are designed that way so they aren't accidentally pressed in performance. Most people aren't going to be flipping the polarity button on a DI or changing from low gain to high gain in the middle of a performance.
I'm so impressed how uncompressed my Realist PU sounds through this unit. The bow sound is incredible. And the EQ is very musical. This is the first time I can ADD eq to a piezo pickup to bring out really nice timbres that I always seemed to miss before just using my AI Focus amp (always ran this flat). All the other preamps I've used you could only subtract eq, never add any, or just run flat.
I'm really looking forward to using this live with my in-ear monitor setup. I can hit a boost switch (engages an effect loop as well) when I take a solo. I can blend my realist with my magnetic pu for a more aggressive sound and they blend beautifully with no phasing issues.
