I have the two band blackout pre-amp installed on my bass. When I use the bass knob, it seems like there's a significant jump at the end of the knob, without much increase from the start. After the middle detent though, it works as it should.

Quesiton about blackout tone circuits?

The center detent would be "flat" (i.e. "no change to the tone") on that tone circuit.
When you have the bass knob all the way down, you're actually cutting out low frequencies from the natural signal of your instrument. When you turn above the center detent, you are beginning to boost the low frequencies.

Yes, I understand that. It cuts just fine, there's a smooth taper. When I boost it though, there's no recognizable taper and it just jumps at the end of the travel.
I use the 2band blackout in both my basses. Neither has that oddity. Both boost and cut exibit smooth taper for both bass and treble for both boost and cut. Is there any chance you put in a bad battery? And yes I love em. Great preamps for much less then most of the competition and with better treble freq choices then most for me.
Yeah, they sound fantastic and it hasn't been too much of an obstacle, I only ever really have need to boost the treble a smidge here and there. Maybe I'll shoot an email to the company.
