Question about a Guild Bass

we recently acquired an old (late 60's or early 70's) Guild Jet Star II bass....sounds phenomenal, exactly like a Gibson EB3 of the same time period

my question has to do with something on the headstock (on the trussrod cover, actually)

it says "Stereo"

what does that mean and how does it work?

i know how a Ric stereo bass works, but they have 2 instrument outputs...what is going on here?

any thoughts appreciated

It could have a stereo jack. [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] mentions a stereo Guild Starfire that used one stereo jack to output in stereo. There's also a brief mention of the JS-2, which is what the Jet Star was called in the '70s, but not specifically about the jack. If you can open it up and look at the jack it should be pretty easy to tell if it's stereo. You could also try a stereo patch cable and see if it works.
