Question about delay/reverbs

I'm new to effects so forgive me. I saw a demo for the dawner prince boonar and fell in love with it. I loved how he was able to play within the spacey repeating echoes. Now normally when I see a bass delay video, there is only maybe one or two delay repeats....but usually there are many settings with these multi-fuction delays that I'm maybe unaware of.

My question is, is the repeating delays a function solely from the boonar or echorec, or is this something that any multi function delay would have? Is this called tape echo? Would I be able to get the spacey echo sound from a neato reverb/delay or modulated delay etc? Also Ive seen granular pedals like the charlie foxtrot in the delay section of stores, is this accurate enough?

Right now I'm looking at matthews cosmonaut, alexander space race and also marshmallow, red panda raster, catalinbread echorec, ehx canyon, walrus bellwether, recovery cutting room, mattoverse swell echo, dba echo mini, clari(not)
