Question about La Bella Nylon Tape wound strings

What is wrong with your strings? Generally, strings cannot be fixed - you have to buy new ones.

Rotosound explained to me via phone that the Tru Bass are "A plain steel core wrapped with nylon"

That's interesting - and perplexing.

I emailed Rotosound and was told that the Tru Bass 88 tapewounds have roundwounds unerneath the tape.

Since I made that post I did cut open a couple of strings, and yes they are round wound underneith.

It really depends on who you talk to I guess...

Does a nut cut for .105 wound/flat string need to be re-cut for a .115 tape wound string?

I have a Cort Acoustic Bass Guitar and a Squier Jaguar electric bass with both P and J bass pickups.

I am considering La Bella nylon Tape Wound strings of one of these basses to give me an upright bass sound.

Which of these basses will get better results with tape wound strings for an upright sound?

The acoustic bass sounds pretty uprightish already with roundwound strings but I don't like the fingernoise I hear in my recordings. I'm thinking the tape wound string will sound more mellow and more like an upright AND no fingernoise. (I'm thinking even plugged in the bass's Fishman pickup may sound a lot more natural with tape wounds because the ROB ALLEN basses sound VERY uprightish only using tapewound strings and an undersaddle pickup.

However, I am aware that a P-Bass may sound very uprightish with tapewound strings too.

Which will give me the best upright sound for my acoustic recordings?? I appreciate all input!

I just bought a Fender Kingman Acoustic Bass. I had them add a set of 760N La Bella's. I read they would sound great. All I found is that they are WAY too noisy. I am going back to the D'Addario phosphor Bronze.
I'll try the La Bella's on my P-Bass.

I used D'Addrio short scale tape wounds ETB92S 50.65.85.105 on my 4 string Luna ABG with 32 inch scale and they also fit my short scale 30 inch 4 string Bronco electric. The cloth wrap is still 1/2 inch away from the nut on both basses great fit.And they both sound like an upright.No fret noise Yay! Why do bases always come with Rounds?Bass is Bass not lead guitar unless your Joco LOL.
