Hello all! I am new here. I apologize if this has been discussed before... I checked but didn't see anything. I recently purchased a Markbass Super Synth. I'm very fond of it's capabilities but I'm having one problem that's going to end up being a deal breaker if I can't find a remedy. If I let a note ring the signal will eventually turn 100% dry. That's fine except it happens too abruptly and all at once. It's really noticeable and awkward sounding. I'd like it to be more subtle. I've made all sorts of adjustments but with no luck. I'm pretty new to synth. Does anyone have any suggestions to correct this? I do have the software... any help would be appreciated

Question about Markbass Super Synth

There is a pretty long thread about this pedal and I know it is mentioned in there. I own the pedal, I have made my own presets but I can't remember the parameters off the top of my head. Is there a gate parameter?
No, I don't see anything labeled as such. I tried turning the Note Off Level to 0 and the Cutoff level to 0. It helps but doesn't fix the issue
What's the rest of your signal chain? Are you going straight into the Super Synth? The Cutoff level is the frequency cut off level (low pass filter). I believe the Note Off level is basically the "gate" but you already have that at zero. If you have a compressor, I'd try it before the super synth so you can continue feeding the input with signal. The tracking can be a little finicky if your bass signal is fading out.
The chain currently goes as follows: Super Synth> Morley Dual Bass Wah> Boss ME 50b. I'm in the process of replacing the ME 50b with stand alone pedals
You'll want to experiment with the Note OFF Level knob in the Controller software. This is the level at which the synth cuts off, so turning it down will give you a longer note before it stops.
However it might also mess with the tracking of other notes, so you may want to tune this for a particular song and save a preset.
Apart from that, as johnbegone says, a compressor will help by boosting the level of the tail end of your note.
Synth and octave pedals always have a problem with sustaining long notes. I usually avoid relying on them, as it can be embarrasing when the note suddenly disappears.
However it might also mess with the tracking of other notes, so you may want to tune this for a particular song and save a preset.

Also, what type of electronics are in your bass? I went from using real high output actives (Warwick and Ernie Ball) to a high output Passive (Dingwall) and I found that I didn't have the sustain issue as much. I have no real idea why beyond the impedence difference, and I don't know why that would matter.
