Question about New Squier Basses

I have been surfing the net and find myself having a GAS for a Squier bass, but I haven't actually played a Squier in years. So, I guess my question is how do the new Squiers compare to say the lower end of the price range Fenders as well as the other lower price range "budget basses" out there?
