Question for Major Metal

Not everybody here is exclusively interested in "getting their post count up", blatantly or otherwise. But then again, I wouldn't presume to judge other people's reasons for wanting to participate.

I really don't see the problem here. Bruce (and others) seem to be saying that the mere sight of the thread titles spoils their TB experience so much that everybody who enjoys them should be denied that enjoyment. Surely that's rather disproportionate?

The very nature of an internet forum like this (especially OT or the lobby) mean there are going to be lots of threads that interest different people for different reasons. I don't find many of Major's threads of the type that we're discussing would hold my attention for long, but that doesn't mean I'd want to stop other people enjoying them if that's what they like.

I think trying to dictate what is and is not legitimate content for TB on the basis of personal whimsy is the height of arrogance.

I just think they're inane and irritating - for me they just clutter up all the forums to no useful end and they look like they have been chosen out of a book like :

I do ignore his threads, actually read my post if you are going to attack my opinion, and 99% of his posts contain exactly zero worthwhile content anyway. Pages and pages and pages and pages of "+1" "Enjoy it" "good for you". Even in his sometimes 3-4 a day question threads, he adds nothing, and I called him on it. So what? Sure maybe I shouldn't have cussed, but again, so what?

He can defend himself if he chooses, (ooooh my poor wittle wrist...) but otherwise, feh.

It is SO not a big deal, you'll have to find something else to gang up on.

Are you replying to me? If so, I'd say this: it's not this thread that concerns me, or even really most of the responses in it. The presumptuousness of attempting to decide the "worthiness" of a thread is of interest to me, though. I find it silly.

Third time, I already said I no longer read his posts. I never said they annoy me that much, just that he should give it a rest once in a while, but thanks for the instructions. I'm sorry if the news that the emperor is butt naked scares you. Feel free to ignore me all you like. And FYI, the wrist comment was directed at MM, and he knows why.

Better go round up the posse to pile on with another page of posts instructing me not to read them, lol.
