Question for Status owners

Hi folks,

I'm wondering how you would describe the weight of your Status basses (particularly S2 models). My experience with these basses is limited but it seems to me that they are on the heavier side (even though Rob Green claims that the weight range is generally between six and nine pounds). What is your experience?

The creation of this thread was, of course, motivated by the "why is everyone obsessed with weight" thread.

ive never weighed my B-2, but it feels about the same as my pink paisley P bass if that helps?

The Empathy model which isn't made anymore is essentially an S-2 with more laminations. I'd say without knowing the actual weight it could easily fall in the under 9-pounds category. It's not certainly not in the "extremely light" category, but it's not heavy enough for me to complain about for a 3-hour show, and I've had all kinds of neck and back issues (including spinal fusions).

I have a 5-string headless Stealth and my bathroom scales says it's about 8.2 lbs. I assume wooden models will be heavier. If you want a Status and want super-light, go for the Streamline. I'm kinda GAS-ing for one of those right now.

I have a 5-string Streamline. I have not weighed it, but I am guessing it is about 6 pounds. It is very light and comfortable to play.
