question for strings winery

i knew some of you here treat strings like wine,....and never change it for years or even for the rest of your life.,....

i knew how does it feel and i love to,...i mean i love the tone of crunchy dark roundwound that sounds like alcoholic warm,.....

but i have a question ,....

what should i do if the strings lost its tuning consistency.,...out of tune in several fret,....
and now ,..a classical music player invite me for jamming that occured on next several weeks,...i dont have to explain how authoritarian they are if they talk about tune,...

so.,...what should i do,...? should i simply change to new string ?

Around here, lots of people refer to dull sounding rounds as "dead" - which IMO is a misnomer. What those strings are, really, is suffering various degrees of "Worn Out". However; when strings - any strings - will no longer stay in tune; won't intonate/stay intonated; or both? Those strings really are dead - and, yes, they need to be replaced. So, to answer your question... yes, your strings are really, truly, dead. If you liked them before they died? Get a new set. If you want to try something else - even flats? Now's your chance to do so with a clear conscience...

To each their own, but it's the space between windings that always made them feel rough to me.

For a roundwound that can retain their useful tone for a long time, look into pure nickel rounds. I would suggest GHS Balanced Nickels over Pressurewounds.

No hidden meaning. Just click on the coordinate and it takes you to Winnipeg, which, depending on who you're talking to, can be either the center of the universe or the middle of nowhere.

The significance of the nickel in my avatar is the fact it's Canadian and from 1957 (my birth year), although I actually wasn't born in Canada.

I get it. I wasn't born in Canada either but I've been in here since'69. This is a pretty good derail for people who are supposed to be polite….polite like Bob Probert.

i did change the string,...ernie ball cobalt flatwound 2813,..well,....i like it,...thanks for all advice guys,...

with technician help,...he set the strings action as low as possible,....

with panga-panga fretboard and nordstrand big single from my bass,...i got the tone that i am looking for,,,,,,,,
