Question for Weeping Demon users

I got a Weeping Demon in the mail today, and I was able to test drive it at the practice space for about an hour this afternoon. So far, I'm impressed (um "very" impressed) with it's versatility and clever design ideas. I had a Morley wah in the 80s that didn't come close to what this wah can do -- superior adjustability, superior construction (spring loaded! tone controls! instant auto-release! etc etc), I play guitar and bass, and I can get away with one wah. It sounds really good.

I just have one problem (which will hopefully be a "user error" due to inexperience with a new device).

When I release the wah in "auto" mode and the pedal automatically releases/shuts the effect off, there is a momentary "burp" for a half-second, where my volume seems to drop, and the notes get blurry. I tried turning the "release timing" type knob from one extreme to the other, and couldn't hear that having any effect on the problem.

Could it be the order of my pedals?

Unibass---> Soviet Big Muff ------> Weeping Demon ------> Slapback echo.

Tomorrow I'll try adjustisting the Noise Gate setting, and try putting the Muff after the Demon, instead of before.

Is there anything else to look out for, or something I might be doing wrong?

By the way, I noticed the Unibass gets blurry if you play sloppy. The Unibass can't track very well, if you have very sloppy fingering. But that's not the issue here, because when I tried letting whole notes sustain while releasing the Weeping Demon pedal, it still had that temporary slur or burp (hard to explain the sound, but there is an audible glitch when releasing the treadle).

Yeah, I tried dialing the delay/reset in with different settings. Didn't eliminate the problem (and you say it happens in the other mode too)

Doesn't this make the pedal kind of unusable????????

How do you work around it?

And how come none of the reviews seem to mention it? Every time you release the pedal, it it slurs your signal for a second... I'd say that's a big problem.

well, compared to all other wahs in the market, it's the one that works best for me, do I deal with it. the 105Q delay is much more horrendous. and both the 105Q and Morleys don't sound well with my Bongo. so weeping demon for me :)

I just got the Weeping Demon myself. When I A/B'd it with the 105Q I thought that the dealy was worse with the 105Q. I turned the delay thing off on the WD and I feel it is at a manageble level. Also through the little bit of time I've had messing with it I found that if you adjust the low EQ Q knob you can almost get rid of it. It looses a little of the low frequency Wah effect, but I foound it a bit 'whoofy' in the lower range with the knob set high.
