Question for Wilcock Mullarkey players

I find that the G-string tends to overbalance the other strings with the pickups level, and have resorted to lowering the pickups quite drastically on the treble side to correct it. Anyone else have this issue? I'm using LaBella flats - I believe 105-45.
 
I dont know about that bass but just today I dropped a P pickup quite a bit on the G side for the same reason. I just do what is needed to balance out the strings and do not worry much about the hows or whys.
