From what I can tell, this question is a little backwards from the norm. I tried figuring this out myself by reading around, but couldn't reach any conclusions from what I read on both this site and other sites.
Here's the story: I ended up buying this BRX10.2NEO amp from Carvin--whom I trust because of how much I love the 6-string bass I got from them. The thing is, when I bought it, I thought I was buying an amp. You know, like... with knobs, and a plug! Haha, I completely failed to realize that I was buying a cabinet. Well, that's not too much of a problem, really. I've been meaning to upgrade from combo amps to a head-cabinet rig for a while. But I'm just not sure what kind of head I should be buying!
So here's the question: The cabinet has an imp of 4 Ohms and a maximum power of 600 watts. What kind of specs do I need to be looking for in a head? What kind of range do I have for resistance and wattage? Any suggestions? I'm looking for best sound quality, but I'm on a really tight budget of 300 to 500 dollars, which I understand is pretty limited for amp heads...
Also, there's this "High Frequency Attenuation (dB)" knob on the back of this cabinet, marked with "off", -24, -12, -6, -3, and 0... I don't know what this does and that's pretty embarrassing.
Any and all information you can provide will help me out! Thanks so much in advance--I'm pretty embarrassed to have made such a mistake in my ignorance!
